Greetings from Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai. We are happy to inform you that TCE will be completing 50 years of its professional existence and excellence in 2007. Fifty years is a remarkable milestone for any Institution and the Golden Jubilee provides an opportunity to recollect our past glory and to visit on new initiatives. The extraordinary achievements of our alumni and sustained efforts of our faculty have produced fruitful results, strengthened the college to a great extent and today we are recognised as one of the premier technical institutions. During this Golden Jubilee year, it is going to be a yearlong celebrations. The celebrations started with the visit of honourable Chief Minister Mr. M. Karunanidhi in January 2007. We plan to celebrate with alumni get-to-gethers, several national and international conferences, VIP, CEO and dignitaries visit. TCE believes in positive interaction with Alumni and is striving hard to bring them to a common platform.

This Golden Jubilee celebrations can be used as a platform for the Alumni to meet and have an interaction. In this regard, get-to-gethers / reunions of Alumni are arranged starting from August on every second Saturday and we cordially invite our alumnus who have made this institution what it is today to join us in the reunion meetings and make it a grand success. To commemorate the Golden Jubilee celebrations, it is planned to create a corpus with following objectives to: support needy students in the College with educational scholarship. A mechanism is already in the college with the support provided by few Alumni. build a Convention Center and Alumni Guest house. We have targeted to raise funds to meet the objectives from Management and Alumni. The Management has magnanimously promised to match what Alumni contributes. We would like to take this opportunity to make an appeal to you to come forward with your generous contributions and we are confident that TCE will continue to benefit from the generosity to reach our goals.
